Sailing Through Setbacks—What Makes Personal Financial Resilience?

open access: yesAccounting &Finance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We investigate financial adaptation by young adults (18 to 40 years old) during a recent cost‐of‐living crisis in a developed economy. Interview, financial, demographic and psychographic data are brought together to shed new light on personal financial resilience, or the capacity to adapt to financial shocks.

SOPHIE velocimetry of Kepler transit candidates XVI. Tomographic measurement of the low obliquity of KOI-12b, a warm Jupiter transiting a fast rotator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We present the detection and characterization of the transiting warm Jupiter KOI-12b, first identified with Kepler with an orbital period of 17.86 days. We combine the analysis of Kepler photometry with Doppler spectroscopy and line-profile tomography of

Refined architecture of the WASP-8 system: a cautionary tale for traditional Rossiter-McLaughlin analysis

open access: yes, 2016
Probing the trajectory of a transiting planet across the disk of its star through the analysis of its Rossiter-McLaughlin effect can be used to measure the differential rotation of the host star and the true obliquity of the system.

How to Be Hopeful About Climate Change

open access: yesAmerican Anthropologist, Volume 128, Issue 1, Page 148-158, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Why do people in climate‐vulnerable regions of Kenya and Namibia express more hope for the future than many in Germany, despite facing greater environmental threats? Drawing on ethnographic research and the philosophy of Gabriel Marcel, we make two arguments.

Apparent Global Increase in Cloud Droplet Number Concentration After 2022 Attributed to MODIS Orbital Drift

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 3, 16 February 2026.
Abstract A long‐term, consistent satellite record of cloud droplet number concentration (Nd) is essential for understanding aerosol‐cloud interactions and their climate effects. However, the Aqua MODIS‐retrieved Nd exhibits an unexpected and substantial increase over the near‐global oceans after 2022, contradicting the expected decline from continued ...

Micrography and XRF Techniques to Investigate Protohistoric Gold Artifacts: The Case of Roca Vecchia (Lecce, Italy)

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 68, Issue 1, Page 51-63, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Protohistoric gold findings from the archaeological site of Roca Vecchia (Melendugno, Lecce, Italy) are analyzed involving micrography and stratified XRF analysis. This exploitation allows to get a deeper insight into ancient gold manufacturing and wear processes adopted in the Southern Italian FBA.

The effects of the geosynchronous energetic particle radiation environment on spacecraft charging phenomena [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
The energetic electron environment at the geosynchronous orbit is responsible for a variety of adverse charging effects on spacecraft components. The most serious of these is the degradation and failure of a complementary-metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS)
