Solar Energy Development in Pakistan: Barriers and Policy Recommendations

open access: yesSustainability, 2019
Energy generation is heavily dependent on fossil fuels in Pakistan. Due to the huge population and current progress in industrialization, these sources are not fulfilling the existing energy needs of the country.

Harnessing Outer Space for Improved Electrocaloric Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel radiative heat sink/source‐integrated electrocaloric (R‐iEC) system combines the electrocaloric (EC) effect with a thermally conductive radiative cooler (TCRC) to address heat dissipation limitations in EC devices. Utilizing outer space as a heat sink, the system achieves up to 240 W m−2 of heat dissipation performance, making it highly ...

Characterizing the Impact of Alfvén Wave Forcing in Interplanetary Space on the Distribution of near-Earth Solar Wind Speeds [PDF]

open access: yes
Broadly, solar wind source regions can be classified by their magnetic topology as intermittently and continuously open to the heliosphere. Early models of solar wind acceleration do not account for the fastest, non-transient solar wind speeds observed near-Earth and energy must be deposited into the solar wind after it leaves the Sun.

Solar Energy In Tajikistan

open access: yes, 2017
The question of efficiency of use in modern conditions of solar energy is considered. A research object — Tajikistan. It is the country where the amount of solar energy is twice more than in Europe. Data on total monthly solar radiation are provided in the main settlements of Tajikistan, and calculations for various conditions of her consumption are ...

Off‐Stoichiometry Engineering of the Electrical and Optical Properties of SrNbO3 Using Oxide Molecular Beam Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The plasma edge of transparent conducting oxide SrNbO3 shifts from ∼2 eV in the visible range to 1.37 eV in the near‐infrared region by off‐stoichiometry using the vacancy sites as quasi‐substitutional virtual elements. This work advances the stoichiometry engineering of perovskite oxides using oxide molecular beam epitaxy, allowing synthesis beyond ...

An Iron-Rich Sun and Its Source of Energy [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2004
Mass-fractionation enriches light elements and the lighter isotopes of each element at the solar surface, making a photosphere that is 91 percent H and 9 percent He. The solar interior consists mostly of elements that comprise 99 percent of ordinary meteorites (Fe, O, Ni, Si, S, Mg and Ca) elements made in the deep interior of a supernova. Solar energy

Switching From Acceptor to FRET Donor: How the Organic Solar Cell Architecture Can Change the Role of a Chromophore

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The non‐fullerene acceptor o‐IDT‐BT‐DCV is used in both binary and ternary blends to investigate the role that it plays in each device architecture. The charge generation pathways are found to differ between the binary and ternary blends with o‐IDT‐BT‐DCV becoming a second donor in the ternary blend.

Effect of Photoconductive Properties of SiNx Passivation Film on Anti-PID Performance of Photovoltaic Cells and Modules

open access: yesMedžiagotyra, 2018
We investigated the impact of the photoconductive properties of crystalline silicon solar cells, having a SiNx passivation film, on potential induced degradation (PID) using voltage-corona (V-Q) and self-adjusting stead state (SASS) tests.
