Agrivoltaics in Germany - Status Quo and Future Developments
Ground-mounted photovoltaic facilities in open spaces have been common in Germany for many years. However, according to the legislation, these are only supported by the government on poorer quality soils, former military training areas, or along traffic

Aerosols and Solar Energy [PDF]
A brief description is presented of the involvement of the Solar Energy Research Institute (SERI) in atmospheric research, including aerosol characterization and modeling. The use of both rigorous and simple models for radiation transport is described. Modeled broadband solar irradiance data are shown to illustrate the important influence that aerosols

Microbial rhodopsins are major contributors to the solar energy captured in the sea
First quantifications of marine microbial rhodopsin reveal a major role in solar energy capture in the surface ocean. All known phototrophic metabolisms on Earth rely on one of three categories of energy-converting pigments: chlorophyll-a (rarely -d ...

Metal‐tetracene dimeric complexes are synthesized through the pyridyl coordination to either Pt(II) or Pd(II). Photophysical properties are systematically compared as a function of the metal using steady‐state and time‐resolved spectroscopy. The Pt(II) dimer exhibits efficient intramolecular singlet fission and subsequent intramolecular up‐conversion ...

Plasmonic hybridization enables control of light emission in 2D van der Waals heterojunctions. By stacking multilayer GaSe and monolayer MoS2 on a silver film, light emission is enhanced at the edges due to plasmonic effects. In the center, where these effects are absent, charge transfer led to reduced light emission.
