A search for solar-like oscillations in K giants in the globular cluster M4
To expand the range in the colour-magnitude diagram where asteroseismology can be applied, we organized a photometry campaign to find evidence for solar-like oscillations in giant stars in the globular cluster M4.

Solar activity and solar flux oscillations
The conditions of full orbit solar flux observation by Solar Constant Monitor (SCM-2) from «Meteor—3» № 7 satellite in February 1995 are described. The power spectra of such daily measurement series of 108 min. duration during two weeks are obtained. The total solar flux oscillations (not registered earlier) with periods range 6-15 min.

Modelling solar-like oscillators
The computation of models of stars for which solar-like oscillations have been observed is discussed. After a brief intoduction on the observations of solar-like oscillations, the modelling of isolated stars and of stars belonging to a binary system is presented with specific examples of recent theoretical calibrations.

Characterisation of red-giant stars in the public Kepler data
The first public release of long-cadence stellar photometric data collected by the NASA Kepler mission has now been made available. In this paper we characterise the red-giant (G-K) stars in this large sample in terms of their solar-like oscillations. We

Wave Period Variability in a Quiescent Solar Prominence
On 2022 September 26, we observed a quiescent solar prominence with H α imaging spectroscopy using the Solar Dynamics Doppler Imager (SDDI) on board the Solar Magnetic Activity Research Telescope (SMART).

Prominences are intriguing, but poorly understood, magnetic structures of the solar corona. The dynamics of solar prominences has been the subject of a large number of studies, and of particular interest is the study of prominence oscillations.

From kink instability to magnetic reconnection to oscillations in solar flares
We show how some different fundamental plasma processes - the ideal kink instability, magnetic reconnection and magnetohydrodynamic oscillations - can be causally linked.

Frequencies of solar oscillations
Solar oscillations have been observed at three different spatial scales at Big Bear Solar Observatory during 1986-1987 and, using three data sets, a new and more accurate table of solar oscillation frequencies has been compiled. The oscillations, which are presented as functions of radial order n and spherical harmonic degree l, are averages over ...

Hinode/EIS Observation of the Alfvénic Fluctuations in the Quiet Sun
Alfvénic fluctuations in the corona are regularly observed in EUV imaging and infrared spectroscopic data. We report here on the Doppler velocity fluctuations within the data from the Extreme-Ultraviolet Imaging Spectrometer (EIS) on board Hinode.

Excitation of Solar Acoustic Oscillations
The stochastic excitation of solar oscillations due to turbulent convection is reviewed. A number of different observational results that provide test for solar p-mode excitation theories are described. I discuss how well the stochastic excitation theory does in explaining these observations.
