In this Letter, we present the direct observations of a mode conversion from a large-amplitude transverse propagating kink wave to antiphase large-amplitude longitudinal oscillations (LALOs) in a quiescent prominence observed on 2014 February 25.

Persistent Solar Prominences [PDF]
IN NATURE for July 24, page 131, reference is made to a large prominence formation on the sun's north-western limb on July 16. Apart from the interest in this display as to grandeur, consideration is enhanced by the fact of the many repeated appearances of this particular display.

Integrative Approaches for DNA Sequence‐Controlled Functional Materials
DNA is emerging as a programmable building block for functional materials with applications in biomimicry, biochemical, and mechanical information processing. The integration of simulations, experiments, and machine learning is explored as a means to bridge DNA sequences with macroscopic material properties, highlighting current advances and providing ...

The magnetic field configuration of a solar prominence inferred from spectropolarimetric observations in the He I 10830 A triplet [PDF]
Context: The determination of the magnetic field vector in quiescent solar prominences is possible by interpreting the Hanle and Zeeman effects in spectral lines. However, observational measurements are scarce and lack high spatial resolution.

Trap state engineering in inverted organic photodetectors (OPDs) is achieved via combined layer‐by‐layer (LbL) processing and poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) (PVK) incorporation. LbL reduces the trap density while PVK additives gradually shift trap states from shallow band‐edge to deep mid‐gap levels, tailoring the energy distribution.

Colloidal Crack Sintering Lithography for Light‐Induced Patterning of Particle Assemblies
Colloidal crack sintering lithography (CCSL) is a microfabrication technique that uses light‐induced photothermal heating to trigger sintering and controlled cracking in polymer colloidal assemblies. Local structural changes generate microchannels and patterns, enabling direct writing of diverse topographic motifs.

Mass Motion in a Prominence Bubble Revealing a Kinked Flux Rope Configuration
Prominence bubbles are cavities rising into quiescent prominences from below. The bubble-prominence interface is often the active location for the formation of plumes, which flow turbulently into quiescent prominences.
