Σε αυτή τη διδακτορική έρευνα, μελετάται η επίδραση της απορρόφησης της ακτινοβολίας από τα αερολύματα στο ενεργειακό ισοζύγιο καθώς και στις ατμοσφαιρικές παραμέτρους στη λεκάνη της Μεσογείου σε αντιπροσωπευτικές θερινές περιόδους. Η απορρόφηση του κάθε αερολύματος εξετάζεται μεμονωμένα: μαύρος άνθρακας, σκόνη, αλάτι, καφέ άνθρακας.
