Sacrificing Energy for Mass Transfer to Boost Solar Steam Generation
Vapor accumulation often limits the performance of passive interfacial solar evaporation. Inspired by the Dyson sphere concept, Xu, Yang, and co‐workers designed a perforated‐shell evaporator with an internal non‐evaporating core that diverts incident sunlight to drive self‐generated internal convection for vapor removal.

Spray‐flame synthesis enables highly flexible and scalable production of multinary and high‐entropy oxide nanoparticles due to high synthesis temperatures with subsequent quenching. Temperature‐dependent in situ diffraction of as‐synthesized materials clearly reveals entropy stabilization in rock salt lattices, while spinels—featuring tetrahedral and ...

Regulating Solar Radiation Management
European Journal of Risk Regulation, 2016Climate engineering in general and solar radiation management (SRM) in particular raise profound and complex political, legal, social, and ethical questions that go well beyond technical feasibility issues. We consider three such questions. First, can existing EU decision-making processes accommodate sufficient public engagement to ensure legitimate ...
