Energetic particles in solar flares. Chapter 4 in the proceedings of the 2nd Skylab Workshop on Solar Flares [PDF]
The recent direct observational evidence for the acceleration of particles in solar flares, i.e. radio emission, bremsstrahlung X-ray emission, gamma-ray line and continuum emission, as well as direct observations of energetic electrons and ions, are ...

A colloid‐mediated electroless plating (CMEP) strategy is proposed to fabricate hierarchically porous, amorphous Fe‐doped NiWB electrocatalysts under ambient conditions. The in situ formation of Fe‐W‐O colloidal species guides the formation of robust, porous catalyst layers with excellent mass transfer and durability, sustaining 500 mA cm−2 for 2000 h,

A radiometric Bode's Law: Predictions for Uranus [PDF]
The magnetospheres of three planets, Earth, Jupiter, and Saturn, are known to be sources of intense, nonthermal radio bursts. The emissions from these sources undergo pronounced long term intensity fluctuations that are caused by the solar wind ...

All‐perovskite tandem solar cells are evaluated under low‐intensity and low‐temperature (LILT) conditions relevant to space environments. Distinct loss regimes emerge, where weaker entropic mixing causes halide segragation below ≈240 K going along with a strong current imbalance, while poor electron transport in C60 dominates.

Dynamic Optical Lattices Through Conducting Polymer‐Gated Confinement
The conducting polymer gate is incorporated into organic dielectric lattices to control the dynamic switching of nonlocal Mie resonances in the visible/NIR regions. The “closed gate” from oxidized PEDOT confines the light within dielectric nanocylinders and activates nonlocal Mie resonances, while the “opened gate” from reduced PEDOT facilitates ...

Electrospun PAN‐MXene nanofibers and yarns integrate enhanced thermal conductivity, photothermal conversion, and triboelectric energy harvesting within a flexible architecture. Interconnected MXene networks promote efficient phonon transport, while their surface chemistry strengthens tribo‐negative behavior, enabling a high power density of 432.7 mW m ...
