Solar energy control system [PDF]
A solar energy control system for a hot air type solar energy heating system wherein thermocouples are arranged to sense the temperature of a solar collector, a space to be heated, and a top and bottom of a heat storage unit is disclosed.

Effect of Subgrains on the Performance of Mono-Like Crystalline Silicon Solar Cells
The application of Czochralski (Cz) monocrystalline silicon material in solar cells is limited by its high cost and serious light-induced degradation. The use of cast multicrystalline silicon is also hindered by its high dislocation densities and high ...

Energetic electrons along the high-latitude magnetopause [PDF]
A case study is presented to determine the source of the energetic electron layer frequently observed along the high-latitude magnetopause. Measurements by the Cluster spacecraft show bursts of field-aligned electrons occurring during time periods ...

Combined Solar system and rotation curve constraints on MOND [PDF]
The Modified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND) paradigm generically predicts that the external gravitational field in which a system is embedded can produce effects on its internal dynamics.

Harnessing Outer Space for Improved Electrocaloric Cooling
A novel radiative heat sink/source‐integrated electrocaloric (R‐iEC) system combines the electrocaloric (EC) effect with a thermally conductive radiative cooler (TCRC) to address heat dissipation limitations in EC devices. Utilizing outer space as a heat sink, the system achieves up to 240 W m−2 of heat dissipation performance, making it highly ...

Solar energy collection system [PDF]
A fixed, linear, ground-based primary reflector having an extended curved sawtooth-contoured surface covered with a metalized polymeric reflecting material, reflects solar energy to a movably supported collector that is kept at the concentrated line ...

Dust Coagulation in Oxygen-rich Circumstellar Outflows
We show that the inefficient growth of SiO molecules on (SiO) _x dust grains prolongs the period of maximum dust nucleation in circumstellar outflows resulting in a several orders-of-magnitude increase in the dust density near the star.

Active Thermal Field Integration for Marangoni‐Driven Salt Rejection and Water Collection
A thermal gradient fabric (TGF) evaporator with an auxiliary active thermal field can simultaneously increase evaporation rates and achieve long‐term salt rejection. The auxiliary active thermal field is well integrated with solar energy to construct moderate, extensive, and circulating Marangoni flow for salt rejection.

Origin of compact exoplanetary systems during disk infall
Exoplanetary systems that contain multiple planets on short-period orbits appear to be prevalent in the current observed exoplanetary population, yet the processes that give rise to such configurations remain poorly understood.

The ancient heritage of water ice in the solar system [PDF]
Nature or nurture for solar system ices? We know that life's favorite molecule, water, exists throughout the solar system. What we don't know is whether present water levels reflect the chemical conditions of our parent nebula or whether they result from
