Photocatalytic Water Splitting on the Lunar Surface: Prospects for In Situ Resource Utilization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Water has been found in craters on the moon nearby locations which are illuminated >80% of the time. Photocatalysis uses energy from sunlight to drive chemical reactions such as water splitting to produce oxygen and hydrogen. It is a scalable technology that requires lighter equipment and utilizes resources available on the moon. ABSTRACT The discovery

Radiation‐Matter Interaction in Chemical Vapor Deposition‐Grown Two‐Dimensional Tungsten Disulfide

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Gamma irradiation tunes the magnetic properties of CVD‐grown WS2 material. Moderate irradiation doses induce low‐temperature ferromagnetic‐like behavior, whereas higher doses suppress the magnetic response because of increased defect formation. These findings provide insight into defect‐mediated magnetism in 2D TMDs and could be relevant to future ...

Efficient Sunlight Degradation of Wide‐Spectrum Antibiotics Through Enhanced Charge Separation in SnTCPP NPs‐Nb2C Schottky Heterojunction: Ultrafast Carrier Dynamic Study

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Due to enhanced charge transfer and carrier mobility on the surface, the SnTCPP NPs‐Nb2C Schottky heterojunctions demonstrate exceptional sunlight‐driven catalytic activity toward tetracycline antibiotics and ofloxacin degradation, achieving a removal efficiency of up to 99.9% within 60 min of irradiation, both in model wastewater and natural water ...

Defect‐Driven Charge Separation in Ba‐Doped SrTiO3: Correlating Photoelectrochemical Performance With Dye‐Selective Photocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Ba‐doped SrTiO3 perovskites establish a direct correlation between photoelectrochemical activity and photocatalytic performance. Optimized Ba0.5Sr0.5TiO3 exhibits enhanced charge separation, photocurrent generation, and visible‐light‐driven dye degradation through defect‐induced oxygen vacancies and lattice distortion.
