Polar Orbits around the Newly Formed Earth–Moon Binary System

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We examine the dynamics and stability of circumbinary particles orbiting around the Earth–Moon binary system. The moon formed close to the Earth (semimajor axis a _EM ≈ 3 R _⊕ ) and expanded through tides to its current day semimajor axis ( a _EM = 60 R ...

Practical Investigation for Road Lighting using Renewable Energy Sources

open access: yesRenewable Energy and Sustainable Development, 2017
- Hybrid renewable energy systems are recently used to counteract the limitations of solar and wind as solo renewable energy sources due to adverse weather conditions.

Longitudinal development of a substorm brightening arc [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2009
We present simultaneous THEMIS-ground observations of longitudinal (eastward) extension of a substorm initial-brightening arc at Gillam (magnetic latitude: 65.6°) at 08:13 UT on 10 January 2008.

Quantifying the Impact of Relativistic Precession on Tidal Disruption Event Light Curves

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The tidal field of a black hole can turn a star into a gas stream whose orbit can precess, especially if the a black hole is rapidly spinning. In this work, we investigate the impact of precession on the light curves of tidal disruption events (TDE).

Establishment of Safety Evaluation Factors for Dust Storms in the Landing Area Selection for Tianwen‐3 Mission

open access: yesEarth and Space Science
China's Tianwen‐3 mission is expected to be launched around 2028, making it the first Mars sample return mission. Dust storms occurring in all seasons on Mars can affect the accuracy and safety of the landing and takeoff phases of Mars sampling missions.

Roles of 2D halide perovskites in 2D/3D heterojunctions for high‐performance perovskite solar cells

open access: yesBulletin of the Korean Chemical Society, EarlyView.
This review establishes a design framework for two‐dimensional (2D)/three‐dimensional (3D) perovskite heterojunctions, redefining the 2D perovskite layer as an active semiconductor component. We classify 2D structures by spacer chemistry and analyze their roles within the heterojunction.

Degenerate Interpretations of O3 Spectral Features in Exoplanet Atmosphere Observations Due to Stellar UV Uncertainties: A 3D Case Study with TRAPPIST-1 e

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
TRAPPIST-1 e is a potentially habitable terrestrial exoplanet orbiting an ultracool M dwarf star and is a key target for observations with the James Webb Space Telescope.

Effects of Latitude-Dependent Gravity Wave Source Variations on the Middle and Upper Atmosphere

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2021
Atmospheric gravity waves (GWs) are generated in the lower atmosphere by various weather phenomena. They propagate upward, carry energy and momentum to higher altitudes, and appreciably influence the general circulation upon depositing them in the middle

A grid of polarization models for Rayleigh scattering planetary atmospheres

open access: yes, 2009
We investigate the intensity and polarization of reflected light from planetary atmospheres. We present a large grid of Monte Carlo simulations for planets with Rayleigh scattering atmospheres. We discuss the disk-integrated polarization for phase angles

Clusters of galaxies in the microwave band: influence of the motion of the Solar System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In this work we consider the changes of the SZ cluster brightness, flux and number counts induced by the motion of the Solar System with respect to the frame defined by the cosmic microwave background (CMB).
