Long-range order between the planets in the Solar system
The Solar System is investigated for positional correlations between the planets using a logarithmic distance scale. The pair correlation function for the logarithm of the semimajor axis shows a regular distribution with 5-7 consecutive peaks, and the ...

The Solar System and the Motions of the Planets
1988Having established the basic laws of Newtonian physics we can see how a structure such as our solar system can exist for billions of years. It is always something of a puzzle to people who do not understand the laws of mechanics how it is possible for the planets and the thousands of other bodies that belong to our solar system to continue to move in ...

The Earth as a Planet in the Solar System
1987The earth was born in the solar system about 4500 million years ago. Since then it has undergone such changes as the formation of the core and atmosphere and mantle-crust differentiation, finally evolving into its present state. It would be no exaggeration to say that the intrinsic direction of this evolution had already taken shape when the earth ...

The Solar System: Observing the Planets
2013The visibility of the planets change throughout their orbit and depends on a number of factors, including their position in their orbit in relation to the Sun and the Earth, as well as its location along the ecliptic.

Satellites of Planets in the Solar System
2011The existence of water on the satellites of the planets of the solar system is discussed. The Galilean satellites of Jupiter, especially Europa, are very promising candidates for hosting an ocean of salty liquid water beneath a thick ice shield. The existence of a subsurface ocean on some satellites of Saturn like Titan is also reviewed.

The Search for Other Planets: Clues from the Solar System
Astrophysics and Space Science, 1994Studies of element abundances and values of D/H in the atmospheres of the outer planets and Titan support a two-step model for the formation of these bodies. This model suggests that the dimensions of Uranus provide a good index for the sensitivity required to detect planets around other stars.

The Solar System: Sun and Planets
2014The Universe is all the mass that exists, spanning from the largest galaxies to the tiny subatomic particle. Furthermore, as mass is exchangeable with energy, the Universe also encompasses all forces and energies that exist therein. Hence, the Universe is unlimited in time and shape and infinite in its variety of forms.
