From Behavior to Dynamics: Decoding Carrier Roles in Cu‐based Photocathodes for Solar‐Driven CO2 Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The performance of Cu‐based photocathodes in photoelectrochemical CO2 reduction is not governed by catalytic sites alone, but by the dynamic journey of photogenerated carriers. This review decodes how carrier generation, recombination, transport, accumulation, extraction, and electrolyte coupling shape catalytic activity, selectivity, and stability ...

Desert Power: The Economics of Solar Thermal Electricity for Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East [PDF]

open access: yes
A climate crisis is inevitable unless developing countries limit carbon emissions from the power sector in the near future. This will happen only if the costs of lowcarbon power production become competitive with fossil fuel power.

Ambient Light‐Activatable Luminescent Particle‐Embedded Conformal Patch for Photochemical Tissue Bonding and Photobiomodulated Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We report a wearable photonic patch integrating room light‐ and sunlight‐activatable luminescent particles (RSLPs) for both photochemical tissue bonding and photobiomodulation. RSLPs harvest ambient light and emit red luminescence to drive chlorin e6–mediated collagen crosslinking.

Solar thermal collector

open access: yes, 2011
A solar thermal collector is a solar collector designed to collect heat by absorbing sunlight. The actuality of sun collectors today is unquestionable. They allow to heat dwellings, industrial, commercial buildings, and also to provide a hot water-supply in them. Organic–Inorganic Hybrid Hole‐Selective Layer Interface Engineering for Enhanced Photoelectrochemical Water Oxidation on Bismuth Vanadate Photoanodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In this research the [4‐(3,6‐dimethyl‐9H‐carbazol‐9‐yl)butyl] phosphonic acid (Me‐4PACz) self‐assembled monolayers (SAMs) to bond with NiOx is first designed to be the organic‐inorganic hybrid hole‐selective layers, which promotes the BiVO4 photoanodes photoelectrochemical water splitting performance with 6.9 mA cm−2 photocurrent at 1.23 VRHE and at ...

Decoupling Activation and Preservation: Architectural Design Principles of Organic Frameworks for Selective Photocatalytic Methane Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Selective methane (CH4) photooxidation emerges from architectural decoupling of activation and preservation. Programmable organic semiconductor frameworks spatially organize oxidative flux and intermediate residence, separating reaction zones from product domains to synchronize activation strength with stabilization and establish a selective oxidation ...
