Design and implementation of a smart dual axis sun tracker based on astronomical equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper presents a new design algorithm for stand-alone solar tracking system based on ATMEL Microcontroller. The proposed idea of the design is based on astronomical equations to determine the position of the sun in the sky at any time of the day to ...

Solar Tracking and Monitoring System

open access: yesInternational Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology
Abstract: We will eventually have to deal with the depletion of fossil fuels and other non-renewable energy sources as they are running out rapidly. Having a large number of renewable alternative energy sources is crucial. The sun's radiation properties meet both requirements.

Solar Tracking Systems – A Review

open access: yesJournal of Mines, Metals and Fuels, 2023
The biggest challenge and concern for the upcoming 50 years is the idea of power generation, by making less use of the fossil fuels. The idea of solar energy as fuel, and the fact that we can convert freely available energy which we receive from the sun into usable energy, is fascinating, and is probably at the highest priority at the moment as ...

Thermodynamic Limits to Molecular Doping in Conjugated Polymers: A Perspective on Phase Behavior and Miscibility

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular doping of conjugated polymers is fundamentally constrained by thermodynamic phase behavior. This Perspective reframes doping efficiency and stability in terms of miscibility limits, binodals, and solvus boundaries, highlighting the role of effective interaction parameters and charge transfer.

Solar tracking using beam-steering lens arrays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Conventional tracking solar concentrators track sunlight by rotating the concentrator optics to face the sun, which adds to the cost and bulk of the system. Beam-steering lens arrays, in contrast, allow solar tracking without bulk rotation of the optics.

Design and Construction of 100 WP Capacity Tracker Solar Panel using VDI 2206 Method

open access: yesJurnal Elkomika
There are main issues in optimizing the energy conversion of solar panels, including (1) the movement of the sun's position and (ii) the best capability of solar panels to capture sunlight, which must be perpendicular to the sun's rays.

Impact of One- and Two-axis Solar Tracking on Techno-Economic Viability of On-Grid PV Systems: Case of Burnoye-1, Kazakhstan

open access: yesInternational Journal of Sustainable Energy Planning and Management, 2020
Kazakhstan is currently committed to develop its renewable energy resources. In 2012, the government introduced a low-carbon energy strategy to reduce the production of air pollutants, including anthropogenic CO2e, and to increase the share of clean ...

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.
