Ultraviolet radiation changes [PDF]
A major consequence of ozone depletion is an increase in solar ultraviolet (UV) radiation received at the Earth's surface. This chapter discusses advances that were made since the previous assessment (World Meteorological Organization (WMO)) to our ...

This work demonstrates the successful integration of a phenanthroline‐based 2D COF with MnI catalytic sites into a catholyte‐free membrane‐electrode‐assembly cell for CO2 electroreduction. The crystalline COF actively suppresses Mn⁰–Mn⁰ dimerization, achieving a turnover frequency of 617 h⁻¹ at 2.8 V (full‐cell potential), and enabling stable operation.

The thermodynamic obstacle of CO2‐to‐CO conversion over metal halide perovskite photocatalysts is addressed by modulating the local electronic structure. A 13‐fold improvement in selective CO2 photoreduction to CO is achieved, with ≈100% selectivity.

SR90, strontium shaped-charge critical ionization velocity experiment [PDF]
In May 1986 an experiment was performed to test Alfven's critical ionization velocity (CIV) effect in free space, using the first high explosive shaped charge with a conical liner of strontium metal. The release, made at 540 km altitude at dawn twilight,

The use of ferroelectric polarization to enhance photocatalytic and photoelectrocatalytic activity is an innovative, and increasingly studied route to improve the spatial separation of charge carriers and therefore enhance catalytic efficiency. These results demonstrate how the intrinsic properties of a ferroelectric film can extend charge carrier ...
