SORCE solar UV irradiance results
Advances in Space Research, 2006Abstract The Solar Radiation and Climate Experiment, SORCE, was launched in January 2003 and is now making the first comprehensive measurement of solar irradiance including both Total Solar Irradiance, TSI, together with spectral irradiance covering almost the entire electromagnetic spectrum of the Sun. The SORCE spectral observations extend from 0.1

Solar blind UV forward scatterometer
Annual Meeting Optical Society of America, 1985The solar blind UV forward scatterometer system will participate in the AFGL atmospheric aerosols research program. The experimental system is designed to provide high angular resolution radiance measurements around a point mercury lamp source at the wavelength of 2537 Å.

High resolution UV solar spectroscopy
Space Science Reviews, 1978The advantages of high resolution UV spectroscopy for the investigation of the solar atmosphere are stressed while the limitations in the areas of instrumentation and diagnosis are discussed. The recent achievements (made essentially by Skylab, OSO-8 and rocket instruments) are reviewed and discussed.

Solar-blind UV region and UV detector development objectives
SPIE Proceedings, 1999The vulnerability of aircraft to missile attacks is briefly sketched. Aircraft and helicopter defensive electronic self- protection systems against missile attacks including passive and active radar and IR countermeasures are summarized. Radar and IR missile threat warnings are outlined. The development of UV missile threat warning is recounted.

Modelling solar UV irradiance variability
Advances in Space Research, 1988Abstract Empirical models which can provide physical insights to the origins of solar UV irradiance variations are discussed. Calculations using the WDC/NOAA plage records and independently measured UV plage contrasts show that bright, contiguous active regions cause much of the observed variability in the full disc UV irradiances over time scales of
