The connection of solar wind parameters with microwave and UV emission of coronal hole atmosphere [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper presents results of comparison between observations of coronal holes in the UV (SOHO EIT) and microwave emission (17, 5.7 GHz, 327 and 150.9 MHz, NoRH, SSRT and Nancy radioheliographs), and solar wind parameters, according to the ACE spacecraft data over the period 12 March--31 May 2007.

Soybean resistance to stink bugs (Nezara viridula and Piezodorus guildinii) increases with exposure to solar UV-B radiation and correlates with isoflavonoid content in pods under field conditions.

open access: yesPlant, Cell and Environment, 2015
Solar UV-B radiation (280-315 nm) has a significant influence on trophic relationships in natural and managed ecosystems, affecting plant-insect interactions.

Efficient and Scalable Radiative Cooling for Photovoltaics Using Solution‐Processable and Solar‐Transparent Mesoporous Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Graded refractive index (GRI) structures are prepared from the layer‐by‐layer spray coating of the mesoporous SiO2 nanoparticles, showing high solar transparency and thermal emissivity. Under outdoor conditions, after 50 days, the GRI‐coated photovoltaics show on average 6.65 ± 1.48 °C lower than that of the non‐coated references, maintaining 80.9 ± 8 ...

Observations of broadband solar UV-A irradiance at Santa Maria, Brazil (29°S, 53° W) [PDF]

open access: yesGeofísica Internacional, 2004
Observations of broadband solar UV-A irradiance (320-400 nm) were made at Santa Maria, Brazil (29° S, 53° W) between September 1993 and December 1996. Two different measurement techniques were used, the direct sun (DS) with the sensor pointed directly to

Stabilized Intermediate Phase Via Pseudo‐Halide Anions Toward Highly Efficient and Light‐Soaking Stable Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
The formate pseudo‐halide anion is strategically introduced at the buried interface to stabilize the intermediate phases formed during perovskite crystallization. The controlled crystallization enhances crystallinity and alleviates tensile strain, eliminating residual PbI2 near the buried interface.

Solar UV Radiation and Cancer in Young Children [PDF]

open access: yesCancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention, 2013
Abstract Background: Studies have shown that higher solar UV radiation exposure (UVR) may be related to lower risk of some cancers in adults. Recently, an ecologic study reported lower risks of some cancers among children living in higher UVR cities and countries.

Removing Homocoupling Defects in Alkoxy/Alkyl‐PBTTT Enhances Polymer:Fullerene Co‐Crystal Formation and Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
PBTTT‐OR‐R, a C14‐alkoxy/alkyl‐PBTTT polymer derivative, is of substantial interest for optoelectronics due to its specific fullerene intercalation behavior and enhanced charge‐transfer absorption. Comparing this polymer with (S) and without (O) homocoupling defects reveals that PBTTT‐OR‐R(O) forms stable co‐crystals with PC61BM, while PBTTT‐OR‐R(S ...
