Sono‐Piezo‐Photosynthesis of Ethylene and Acetylene from Bioethanol under Ambient Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel sono‐piezo‐photocatalytic strategy enables the conversion of bioethanol to ethylene (C2H4) and acetylene (C2H2) under ambient conditions, addressing the limitations of conventional methods that are high‐temperature and energy‐intensive. By using an advanced graphene oxide/sodium bismuth titanate heterostructure catalyst, this work achieved ...

Polytropic Behavior in Corotating Interaction Regions: Evidence of Alfvénic Heating

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
Corotating interaction regions (CIRs) are recurring structures in the solar wind, characterized by interactions between fast and slow solar wind streams that compress and heat plasma. This study investigates the polytropic behavior of distinct regions in

Gd‐Induced Oxygen Vacancy Creation Activates Lattice Oxygen Oxidation for Water Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DFT calculations shows that Gd incorporation into Fe‐doped NiO raises the O 2p band center, lowers oxygen vacancy formation energy, and thus promotes the LOM mechanism for OER. Gd and Fe co‐doped NiO nanosheets synthesized via spray combustion exhibits a low overpotential of 227 mV and maintains stable AEMWE performance for over 120 h, demonstrating ...

Suprathermal particle addition to solar wind pressure: possible influence on magnetospheric transmissivity of low energy cosmic rays?

open access: yes, 2013
Energetic (suprathermal) solar particles, accelerated in the interplanetary medium, contribute to the solar wind pressure, in particular during high solar activity periods.

Excitonic Emission Modulation in GaSe/MoS2 Van Der Waals Heterostructure Via Plasmonic Control of Interlayer Charge Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Plasmonic hybridization enables control of light emission in 2D van der Waals heterojunctions. By stacking multilayer GaSe and monolayer MoS2 on a silver film, light emission is enhanced at the edges due to plasmonic effects. In the center, where these effects are absent, charge transfer led to reduced light emission.

The interaction of the solar wind with the interstellar medium [PDF]

open access: yes
The expected characteristics of the solar wind, extrapolated from the vicinity of the earth are described. Several models are examined for the interaction of the solar wind with the interstellar plasma and magnetic field.
