The Solenoid Loom is a master's thesis that answers the question: How can weaving logic be applied outside the field of textiles? As an answer, the thesis proposes an electromechanical tile patterning tool, the Solenoid Loom.

A noncommutative solenoid is the C*-algebra $C^\ast(\Q_N^2,σ)$ where $\Q_N$ is the group of the $N$-adic rationals twisted and $σ$ is a multiplier of $\Q_N^2$. In this paper, we use techniques from noncommutative topology to classify these C*-algebras up to *-isomorphism in terms of the multipliers of $\Q_N^2$.

Given the impact on the environment as well as financial considerations like the gradually rising cost of liquid fossil fuels, maintenance, and other costs, electric vehicles are becoming a more and more appealing option to vehicles with combustion engines. Due to the fact that these cars are well renowned for having zero emissions and being fueled by

Solenoidal automorphisms with specifications
The specification property for solenoidal automorphisms is discussed; a solenoidal automorphism σ satisfies specification iff σ is expansive, and σ satisfies weak specification but not specification iff σ is ergodic and central spin. These are problems set up byK. Sigmund for homeomorphisms with specification.

Hodge Theory for Riemannian Solenoids [PDF]
A measured solenoid is a compact laminated space endowed with a transversal measure. The De Rham $L^2$-cohomology of the solenoid is defined by using differential forms which are smooth in the leafwise directions and $L^2$ in the transversal direction.

We introduce optical solenoid beams, diffractionless solutions of the Helmholtz equation whose diffraction-limited in-plane intensity peak spirals around the optical axis, and whose wavefronts carry an independent helical pitch. Unlike other collimated beams of light, appropriately designed solenoid beams have the noteworthy property of being able to ...
