Numerical research on the performance of solid fuel rocket scramjet combustor
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part G: Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2021Combustion efficiency is the main factor affecting the performance of solid fuel rocket scramjet. To reveal the influence of combustor configuration on performance and further improve combustion efficiency, the influence of the width-height ratio of the rectangle-section combustor on the performance of solid fuel rocket scramjet is investigated ...

Experimental and Numerical Investigation of a Solid-Fuel Rocket Scramjet Combustor
Journal of Propulsion and Power, 2016A new scramjet configuration using solid fuel as propellant is proposed, namely, the solid-fuel rocket scramjet. Experimental and numerical investigation of the solid-fuel rocket scramjet combustor was conducted to evaluate its performance. The experiment simulated a flight environment of Mach 4 at a 17 km altitude.

Experimental Investigation into the Effect of Solid-Fuel Additives on Hybrid Rocket Performance
Journal of Propulsion and Power, 2015An experimental performance evaluation, conducted with static firings of a laboratory-scaled hybrid rocket burning gaseous oxygen and several fuel combinations, aimed at raising the fuel regression rate is addressed in this paper. Pure hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene has been tested as a baseline fuel and compared to hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene

Manufacture of Housing Joints in Solid-Fuel Rocket Engines
Russian Engineering Research, 2019To decrease the metal content in the housings of solid-fuel rocket engines, the metallic joint reinforcement may be replaced by plastic components. A device for the production of reinforcement blanks by winding is developed. This system ensures polymerization and machining of the plastic.

Energetic Solid Fuels for Ducted Rockets (II)
Propellants, Explosives, Pyrotechnics, 1991AbstractThe combustion characteristics of variable‐flow ducted rockets were evaluated in order to obtain optimum design parameters of the gas generators. The energetic solid fuels used for the gas generators were glycidyl azide polymer (GAP) with burning rate catalysts.

Regression Rate Behavior of Hybrid Rocket Solid Fuels
Journal of Propulsion and Power, 2000An experimental investigation of the regression-rate characteristics of hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) solid fuel burning with oxygen was conducted using a windowed, slab-geometry hybrid rocket motor. A real-time, x-ray radiography system was used to obtain instantaneous solid-fuel regression rate data at many axial locations.
