Directional element for faulty feeder identification of high‐resistance fault in high‐surety power supply systems

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 15, Issue 1, Page 45-55, January 2021., 2021
Abstract The high‐surety power supply systems are gaining great attention to enhance the reliability of uninterruptable power supplies. A high‐resistance fault along a high‐surety power supply feeder results in a low fault current, making the conventional high‐surety power supply protection strategy ineffective.

Parallel resonance type fault current limiting circuit breaker

open access: yesHigh Voltage, Volume 5, Issue 1, Page 76-82, February 2020., 2020
The main goal of this study is introducing a novel fault current limiter based on parallel resonance structure (PRFCL) for high voltage application. During normal mode, the PRFCL reactor is short‐circuited via a rectifier bridge DC output voltage and LC resonance tank shows negligible impedance in the line. During a fault, the rectifier bridge switches

Design and development of solid state circuit breaker with residual current protection for residential prosumer DC microgrids [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Estonian Academy of Sciences
DC microgrids require rapid and reliable techniques for residual current detection and protection against short circuit, overcurrent, and overvoltage. Solid-state circuit breakers provide viable high-speed protection for DC microgrids.

Design of a Solid State Circuit Breaker Using a SiC MOSFET for LVDC Applications

open access: yesIEEE Access
In this paper, a solid state circuit breaker(SSCB) for a low voltage direct current (LVDC) system is presented. The LVDC distribution system such as a household distribution, require a DC input source, DC loads, and a DC circuit breaker.
