Diode Laser—Pumped Solid-State Lasers

Science, 1988
Diode laser—pumped solid-state lasers are efficient, compact, all solid-state sources of coherent optical radiation. Major advances in solid-state laser technology have historically been preceded by advances in pumping technology. The helical flash lamps used to pump early ruby lasers were superseded by the linear flash lamp and arc lamp now used to ...

2 μm solid-state laser mode-locked by single-layer graphene

open access: yesApplied Physics Letters, 2013
We report a 2 μm ultrafast solid-state Tm : Lu2O3 laser, mode-locked by single-layer graphene, generating transform-limited similar to 410 fs pulses, with a spectral width similar to 11.1 nm at 2067 nm.

Random-wavelength solid-state laser

Optics Letters, 2004
The spectral properties of a diode-pumped Yb:Y2O3 ceramic laser are reported. We show experimentally that the instantaneous emission wavelengths of the laser change randomly with time, whereas its emission has fixed well-defined transverse modes. The central wavelength of the laser emission also shifts prominently with the increase of intracavity light

Tunable solid-state lasers

Optical Society of America Annual Meeting, 1990
The tutorial will begin with a discussion of the underlying physics of tunable solid-state laser media. A review of specific systems, including alexandrite, Ti:sapphire, and Co:MgF2, will follow and will include information on modes of operation and operating characteristics of each mode.

Festkörperlaser (solid state lasers)

1989

Developments In Solid State Lasers

SPIE Proceedings, 1986
The past 2–3 years has seen an accelerated pace of research and development in solid state lasers. Particularly active is the research into tunable solid state lasers and it is interesting to note how, in the laser’s 25th anniversary year, a great deal of attention is currently being paid to close relations of ruby, the first laser medium. Another spur
