A review on flicker-free ac-dc LED drivers for single-phase and three-phase ac power grids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Light-Emitting Diodes (LEDs) are coming strongly into the lighting market due to their advantages over conventional lighting solutions: energy efficient, controllable in both light and color, long lifetime, lack of a warm-up period and high power density.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

On a relationship among optical power, current density, and junction temperature for InGaN-based light-emitting diodes

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2017
Theories of spontaneous emission rates and carrier recombination mechanisms for multiple-quantum-well InGaN-based blue light-emitting diodes (LEDs) have been carefully studied.

Determining Two-Dimensional Phosphor Surface Temperature Distribution of Phosphor-Coated LEDs Based on Hyper-Spectral Imaging

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society, 2021
We present a high-resolution non-contact method for the measurement of two-dimensional (2D) phosphor surface temperature distribution (PSTD) of phosphor-coated light-emitting diodes (pc-LEDs) based on advanced hyper-spectral imaging technology.

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Precise radiative lifetimes in bulk crystals from first principles: the case of wurtzite gallium nitride [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Gallium nitride (GaN) is a key semiconductor for solid-state lighting, but its radiative processes are not fully understood. Here we show a first-principles approach to accurately compute the radiative lifetimes in bulk uniaxial crystals, focusing on ...

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell
