Electroless Silver Plating Reflectors to Boost the Performance of Vertical Light-Emitting Diodes

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2016
In this paper, we experimentally demonstrated a novel approach known as electroless silver plating (ESP) for the fabrication of Ag-only reflectors on vertical light-emitting diodes (VLEDs).

Newer optics efficiently mix, dim, and color-tune LED light [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Low-cost, plastic-injected optics mix light from different color LED dies without a significant decrease in average brightness, simplifying luminaire design both optically and electronically.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Multi-objective optimization of thermoelectric cooler using genetic algorithms

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
The thermoelectric cooler (TEC) is a kind of cooling equipment which used to dissipate heat from the devices by Peltier effect. The cooling capacity (Qc) and coefficient of performance (COP) are both significant performance parameters of a thermoelectric

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Improved light extraction efficiency of GaN-based flip-chip light-emitting diodes with an antireflective interface layer

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2016
GaN-based flip-chip light-emitting diodes (FC-LEDs) grown on nanopatterned sapphire substrates (NPSS) are fabricated using self-assembled SiO2 nanospheres as masks during inductively coupled plasma etching.

Multi-Azimuth Failure Mechanisms in Phosphor-Coated White LEDs by Current Aging Stresses

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
We have experimentally analyzed multi-azimuth degradation mechanisms that govern failures of commercially-available high-power (1 Watt) phosphor-coated white (hppc-W) light-emitting diodes (LEDs) covered with peanut-shaped lenses under three current ...
