Red‐to‐Blue Upconversion Nanoparticles Catalyze Aqueous Radical Polymerization
Encapsulation of a red‐to‐blue upconversion pair into polymer nanoparticles gives water‐stable heterogeneous nanocatalysts with distinguished stability. Red light irradiation of these nanocatalysts initiates aqueous polymerization of a series of acrylates with high conversion yields.

Cooling electrons from 1 K to 400 mK with V-based nanorefrigerators
The fabrication and operation of V-based superconducting nanorefrigerators is reported. Specifically, electrons in an Al island are cooled thanks to hot-quasiparticle extraction provided by tunnel-coupled V electrodes.

The authors employed widely targeted metabolomics, microbial amplicon sequencing, and fermentation assays to investigate the microbiome 's influence on PCRC 's (pericarp of Citrus reticulata ' Chachi ') flavonoid profile over 0–19 years of storage. Based on the correlation analysis, solid‐state and liquid‐state fermentation, and catalytic activity ...

Ultrahigh cyclability of a large elastocaloric effect in multiferroic phase-transforming materials
Multiferroic phase-transforming alloys demonstrate intriguing multicaloric effects, but they are intrinsically brittle and their elastocaloric effect shows poor cyclability, which remains a major challenge for exploiting more efficient multicaloric ...

Solid-state laser refrigeration of a semiconductor optomechanical resonator
Photothermal heating represents a major constraint that limits the performance of many nanoscale optoelectronic and optomechanical devices including nanolasers, quantum optomechanical resonators, and integrated photonic circuits. Although radiation-pressure damping has been reported to cool an individual vibrational mode of an optomechanical resonator ...

A macrophage–platelet conjugation system (M‐P‐NPs@PPARγ) targets injure tissue to co‐deliver platelet mitochondria and PPARγ‐encoding NPs. This strategy boosts the macrophage energy supply and restores lipid homeostasis, leading to synergistically enhanced efferocytosis and tissue repair Abstract Mitochondrial dysfunction occurs in macrophages with ...
