Potentiostatically controlled transient diffusion on solid electrodes with rough surface

Transient limiting diffusion currents were measured under potentiostatic conditions on several platinum electrodes for various solutions of sucrose with profoundly different diffusivities of a depolarizer. Systematic increase of the current densities against a Cottrellian (penetration) asymptote is correlated with parameters of roughness description.

A lattice Boltzmann model for the dissolution of solid structures of arbitrary shape in multi-component liquids is developed. To model diffusion-controlled dissolution, a multicomponent boundary condition is presented to impose a fixed concentration on an arbitrarily located boundary.
