Mixing time for the solid-on-solid model [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the forty-first annual ACM symposium on Theory of computing, 2009
We analyze the mixing time of a natural local Markov chain (the Glauber dynamics) on configurations of the solid-on-solid model of statistical physics. This model has been proposed, among other things, as an idealization of the behavior of contours in the Ising model at low temperatures.

Simulating fluid-solid equilibrium with the Gibbs ensemble [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The Gibbs ensemble is employed to simulate fluid-solid equilibrium for a shifted-force Lennard-Jones system. This is achieved by generating an accurate canonical Helmholtz free-energy model of the (defect-free) solid phase.

Investigation on Circadian Regulation of Four-Primary LED Display Differed in People by GA

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal
The concept of human-centric lighting is gradually emerging. People no longer only consider the lighting function of light, but also begin to pay attention to the comfort and health of light.

Cluster Algorithm for a Solid-On-Solid Model with Constraints

open access: yes, 1992
We adapt the VMR (valleys-to-mountains reflections) algorithm, originally devised by us for simulations of SOS models, to the BCSOS model. It is the first time that a cluster algorithm is used for a model with constraints.

Analytic theory of the eight-vertex model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We observe that the exactly solved eight-vertex solid-on-solid model contains an hitherto unnoticed arbitrary field parameter, similar to the horizontal field in the six-vertex model.

Phase diagram of the restricted solid-on-solid model coupled to the Ising model

open access: yes, 1996
We study the phase transitions of a restricted solid-on-solid model coupled to an Ising model, which can be derived from the coupled XY-Ising model. There are two kinds of phase transition lines.

A one dimensional model for the prediction of extraction yields in a two phases modified twin-screw extruder [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Solid/liquid extraction is performed on raw plant substrate with a modified twin-screw extruder (TSE) used as a thermo-mecanochemical reactor. Visual observations and experimental residence time distributions (RTD) are used to develop a solid transport ...

Catalytic flow with a coupled Finite Difference -- Lattice Boltzmann scheme [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Many catalyst devices employ flow through porous structures, which leads to a complex macroscopic mass and heat transport. To unravel the detailed dynamics of the reactive gas flow, we present an all-encompassing model, consisting of thermal lattice ...

Recruitment of Brd3 and Brd4 to acetylated chromatin is essential for proinflammatory cytokine-induced matrix-degrading enzyme expression

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research, 2019
Background Proinflammatory cytokines, which can upregulate the expression of matrix-degrading enzymes in chondrocytes, play important roles in the development of osteoarthritis.

Universality class of the restricted solid-on-solid model with hopping

open access: yes, 2002
We study the restricted solid-on-solid (RSOS) model with finite hopping distance $l_{0}$, using both analytical and numerical methods. Analytically, we use the hard-core bosonic field theory developed by the authors [Phys. Rev.
