Carcinomas and Carcinoid Tumors of the Lungs and Bronchi in Children and Adolescents: The EXPeRT Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Primary lung carcinomas and bronchial carcinoid tumors (BC) are very rare malignancies in childhood. While typical BC and mucoepidermoid carcinomas are mostly low‐grade, localized tumors with a more favorable prognosis than in adults, necessitating avoidance of overtreatment, adenocarcinomas of the lung are often diagnosed at advanced disease ...

Phase behaviour of a simple model of globular proteins

open access: yes, 1999
A simple model of globular proteins which incorporates anisotropic attractions is proposed. It is closely related to models used to model simple hydrogen-bonding molecules such as water.

Biogas Production from Corn Stover by Solid-State Anaerobic Co-digestion of Food Waste

open access: yesJurnal Teknik Kimia dan Lingkungan, 2020
Biogas has become an alternative fuel to reduce the lack of fossil fuel. Biogas can be produced from organic wastes such as corn stover. Corn stover is a typical lignocellulosic biomass and contains a total solid (TS) content higher of 15%.

Results of the Childhood Cancer and Leukaemia Group's United Kingdom Relapsed Wilms Tumour Trial

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The United Kingdom relapsed Wilms tumour (UKW‐R) trial aimed to improve the historically low survival rates after relapse of Wilms tumour (WT) through a prospective national risk‐stratified protocol. The trial also evaluated efficacy and toxicity of high‐dose melphalan.

Computing the Roughening Transition of Ising and Solid-On-Solid Models by BCSOS Model Matching

open access: yes, 1996
We study the roughening transition of the dual of the 2D XY model, of the Discrete Gaussian model, of the Absolute Value Solid-On-Solid model and of the interface in an Ising model on a 3D simple cubic lattice.

Comparison between 1-D and grey-box models of a SOFC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) have shown unique performance in terms of greater electrical efficiency and thermochemical integrity with the power systems compared to gas turbines and internal combustion engines.

Exploring Preferences for a Digital Single‐Session Intervention for Adolescent Siblings of Youth With Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Adolescent siblings of children with cancer are at elevated risk for psychosocial problems. Unfortunately, various barriers such as limited family time and resources, conflicting schedules, and psychosocial staffing constraints at cancer centers hinder sibling access to support.

Probing Contact Electrification between Gas and Solid Surface

open access: yesNanoenergy Advances, 2023
Contact electrification exists everywhere and between every phase of matter. However, its mechanism still remains to be studied. The recent triboelectric nanogenerator serves as a probe and provides some new clues about the mechanism present in solid ...

Conserved Restricted Solid-on-Solid Model

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2023
We study a model for the movement of surfaces, namely the conserved, restricted solid-on-solid model. The surface configurations are restricted such that the difference between the heights at adjacent sites is no more than one. In addition, the total number of particles is preserved by the dynamics of the model.
