Particle Capture in Solid-State Multipores
ACS Sensors, 2018Utilization of multiple-channel structure is a promising way of accomplishing high-throughput detections of analytes in solid-state pore sensors. Here we report on systematic investigation of particle capture efficiency in Si3N4 multipore systems of various array configurations.

Behavior of solid particles in pulsating flows
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1995Summary: The characteristics of solids particles in pulsating flows are investigated. A model based on the momentum equation is developed and applied to solid inert particles in the gas flow of the Rijke-type pulsating combustor, by using a computational scheme based on a fourth order Runge-Kutta method.

Solid Particle Measurement by Image Analysis
2006A good size measurement method should meet at least three criteria. These are rotational invariance, reproducibility and embody overall shape description (elongation / flakiness or angularity). According to these three criteria, this paper analyzes and evaluates several existing methods of solid particle measurement, such as Chord sizing, (multiple ...

FLUIDISATION OF SOLID PARTICLES
1989A fluidised bed is formed when a gas or liquid passes up through a bed of particles at a rate such that the pressure drop is sufficient to support the weight of the particles. The bed of fluidised particles has many of the properties of an ordinary liquid.

Abstract Solid particle erosion (SPE) is the loss of material that results from repeated impact of solid particles energized in a carrier fluid. This article reviews important SPE variables, their effects for different classes of materials, composites and coatings, and the mechanisms and theories proposed to explain SPE. It discusses the

Particle Kinetics of Gas-Solid Particle Mixtures
1969In this thesis the interaction of a normal gas dynamic shock wave with a gas containing a distribution of small solid spherical particles of two distinct radii, σ1 and σ2, is studied (1) to demonstrate that the methods of kinetic theory can be extended to treat solid particle collision phenomena in multidimensional gas-particle flows; (2) to elucidate ...

Solid Particles Falling through Fluids
1984The forces acting on a sphere falling through a fluid (call it gas for convenience) are as follows: Open image in new window In symbols $$|F| = {m \over {{g_c}}}{{du} \over {dt}} = \left({{\pi \over 6}d_{{\rm{sph}}}^3} \right)\left({|{\rho _s} - {\rho _g}|} \right){g \over {{g_c}}} - |{F_d}|$$ (8.1) where the drag force Open image in new
