A Rare Case of a Solitary Fibrous Tumor of the Spermatic Cord

open access: yesCase Reports in Pathology, 2021
Solitary fibrous tumors (SFTs) are rare mesenchymal tumors, originally identified in the pleura. Even though they have subsequently been described in several extrapleural sites, the incidence of SFTs in the spermatic cord is particularly rare.

Retroperitoneal Solitary Fibrous Tumor

open access: yesJournal of the Belgian Society of Radiology, 2020
Teaching Point: The typical imaging features of a retroperitoneal solitary fibrous tumor are relatively large-sized, have a well-defined margin, an avidly heterogeneous enhancement on arterial phase, a prolonged enhancement on delayed phase, and serpentine vessels along the periphery of the tumor.

Intraperitoneal Solitary Fibrous Tumor [PDF]

open access: yesCase Reports in Obstetrics and Gynecology, 2014
Solitary fibrous tumors of the pelvis are rare. We report the case of a 32-years-old patient who presented with abdominopelvic mass. The imaging studies showed a right adnexal mass of more than 10 cm. Exploratory laparotomy revealed a 20 cm mass at the Douglas pouch which was adhered to the posterior wall of the uterus.

Metachronous Malignant Solitary Fibrous Tumor of Kidney: Case Report and Review of Literature

open access: yesUrology Case Reports, 2016
Solitary fibrous tumors are well described in the pleura, but rare extra-pleural neoplasms have been reported. We describe a patient with a solitary left renal fibrous tumor who after undergoing a nephrectomy, presented 8 years later with a contralateral

It is now distinguished into two forms, pleural and extrapleural, which morphologically resemble each other. Abdominal localizations are quite rare, with 10 cases only reported in bladder; rarely they can be source of paraneoplastic syndromes (i.e ...

Intracranial Solitary Fibrous Tumor

open access: yesJournal of the Belgian Society of Radiology, 2017
Solitary fibrous tumours are rare mesenchymal spindle-cell tumours that occur most often in the visceral pleura or liver. If they occur intracranially, they are extra-axially located and develop from the meninges. In those cases, the differential diagnosis has to be made with other intracranial extra-axial-located tumours, such as meningeoma and ...
