Control of solitons

Physical Review E, 2011
A method for adiabatic control of envelope solitons in the driven nonlinear Schrödinger equation is developed. The approach is based on the autoresonant effect, when the soliton is captured ("phase locked") by a two-phase resonant driving with slowly varying frequencies.

Soliton Family and Solitonics

1996
Recect theoretical developments of the fiber-optic soliton are reviewed. New family members of the solitons are introduced, such as the coupled solitons, the paired solitons and the supersoliton. The practical application of the solitons are also reviewed. A new technology of the “solitonics” is expected.

Holographic solitons

Optics Letters, 2002
We propose a new kind of an optical spatial soliton: the holographic soliton. This soliton consists of two mutually coherent field components that interfere, induce a periodic change in the refractive index, and simultaneously are Bragg diffracted from the grating.
