The influence of tetraethoxysilane sol preparation on the electrospinning of silica nanofibers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The critical parameters determining the electrospinning of silica nanofibers starting from tetraethoxysilane sols are reported. By controlling the reaction conditions, the rheological properties of the sol allowed for electrospinning without needing the ...

Nitride‐Reinforced Metal Matrix Nanocomposite Powders Production by Plasma‐Assisted Thermochemical Treatment of Intermetallic Powders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study proposes a new methodology for producing metal matrix nanocomposites in the solid state. The process involves the plasma‐assisted thermochemical treatment of metallic alloy powders. As a proof‐of‐concept, TiN nanoparticles are synthesized directly on the surface of FeTi intermetallic powder particles, enabling the development of the ...

La microflore des sols du vignoble de Touraine

open access: yesOENO One, 1975

Conductances in normal and normal-superconductor structures

open access: yes, 1999
We study theoretically electronic transport through a normal metal-- superconductor (NS) interface and show that more than one conductance may be defined, depending on the pair of chemical potentials whose difference one chooses to relate linearly to the

Bimetallic (NiFe) and Trimetallic (NiFeCr) Nanoalloys from Metal Oxides Using a Microwave Hydrogen Plasma

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Bimetallic (NiFe) and trimetallic (NiFeCr) nanoalloys (NAs) are synthesized using corresponding oxide mixtures using microwave hydrogen plasma within a few milliseconds. The process simultaneously 1) reduces metal oxides to metals; 2) downsizes the particles from micrometers to nanometers; and 3) blends the metals to form NAs.

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Evaluation of hybrid silica sols for stable microporous membranes using high-throughput screening

open access: yes, 2011
Microporous membranes are a promising option for energy-efficient molecular separations. Long-term hydrothermal stability of the membrane material is of prime importance for several industrial processes.
