Critical Poles and Third-Order Nonlinear Differential Equations

open access: yesMathematics
The paper deals with the results of a study of a third-order nonlinear differential equation with moving singular points and critical poles. So far, this type of equation cannot be solved in quadratures.

Nonlinear Spinor Field in Non-Diagonal Bianchi Type Space-Time

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
Within the scope of the non-diagonal Bianchi cosmological models we have studied the role of the spinor field in the evolution of the Universe. In the non-diagonal Bianchi models the spinor field distribution along the main axis is anisotropic and does ...

Contact problem of torsion of a multilayer base with elastic connections between layers

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2014
Torsion of a multilayer base with elastic connections between layers by cylindrical punch with a flat sole was considered. The Hankel integral transform of the first order and the method of the compliance functions were used.

Comparative Study of Gas and Liquid Flow in Packed Beds Using Phase‐Contrast MRI

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
This work presents applications of phase‐contrast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to investigate fluid flow fields and temperature in packed beds. Comparison of ethane (C2H6) gas flow with that of water flow is done at similar flow conditions. The temperature of water is also measured using MRI.

Correlated Order Three Gaussian Quadratures in Stochastic Simulation Modelling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
A simple approach to generate correlated order three Gaussian quadratures is presented. It is shown how for stochastic simulation modelling purposes the integration over the ncube as suggested in Stroud (1957) is not necessary and thus, a simpler ...

WSPLK: A systematic approach to the thermodynamic characterization of light and heavy Mexican crude oil

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract A streamlined characterization framework (WSPLK) is presented for modelling complex reservoir fluids using cubic equations of state. The key methodological contribution is the introduction of a single global parameter ε directly into Pedersen's boiling‐point correlation, restoring pure‐component calibration and eliminating the need for ...

Review of CFD modelling techniques for single‐phase and multiphase flow in static mixers

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
This review synthesizes computational fluid dynamics (CFD) approaches for static mixers, linking hydrodynamics to pressure drop, particle/droplet distributions, mixing metrics, and heat‐transfer performance to guide modelling choices and design decisions. Abstract Static mixers enable compact and low‐energy intensification.

Numerical Solutions of FIDE Using Quadrature Method

open access: yes, 2023
ABSTRACT In this peeper, some numerical methods for solving first order nonlinear Fredholm Integro-Differential Equations [FIDEs] are presented. Moreover, in order to support the numerical results, some numerical experiments are given. Finally, we discuss the obtained numerical results.

Coupled heat and mass transfer in reactive parallel‐plate flow: A perturbative Graetz model with modal symmetry and Arrhenius kinetics

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
A perturbative Graetz model describes coupled heat and mass transfer in reactive Couette–Poiseuille flow between parallel plates. Viscous dissipation and heat of reaction produce a small temperature rise, which enhances Arrhenius reaction rates and modestly accelerates axial species conversion in the small‐Brinkman‐number regime.
