An investigation of Lockheed's solvency by use of financial ratios

open access: yes, 1974
This thesis is an application of the methodology in studies by Beaver and one by Dascher to an analysis of the financially troubled Lockheed Aircraft Corporation. There three previous studies used financial ratios in attempting to predict failure. All three studies were performed with firms that had already failed.

Continuous‐Flow Photocatalytic Degradation of Glyphosate and Aminomethylphosphonic Acid Under Simulated Sunlight with TiO2‐Coated Poly(vinylidene fluoride) Membrane

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Glyphosate (GLY) and its primary metabolite, aminomethylphosphonic acid (AMPA), are photodegraded using a poly(vinylidene fluoride) membrane with immobilized titanium dioxide (PVDF‐TiO2) in a continuous flow‐through operation under solar light. At optimized conditions, the PVDF‐TiO2 membrane achieved 95% GLY and 80% AMPA removal with •O2− as the ...

Ionic Control of Microstructure and Lubrication in Charged, Physically Cross‐Linked Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Here, charged, physically cross‐linked poly(methacrylamide‐co‐methacrylic acid) hydrogels stabilized by a short‐range attractive, long‐range repulsive potential is investigated. This work uncovers how salt addition alters not only swelling, but also the microstructure and dynamics, near‐surface stiffness and charge, and ultimately, its lubricity. Salts
