α‐Helix formation by solvent–solvent interaction
Biopolymers, 1967AbstractThe degree of helicity θ of a series of homologous polypeptides as a function of solvent composition was investigated. The polypeptides studied were: poly‐N5‐(3‐hydroxypropyl)‐L‐glutamine (PHPG) as well as the corresponding 2‐hydroxyethyl and 4‐hydoxybutyl derivatives (PHKG and PHBG, respectively).

Solvent spectral shifts in perfluoroalkane solvents
Chemical Physics Letters, 1989Abstract Absorption and emission spectra ( 1 L b and 1 L a bands) of benzene, naphthalene, anthracene and tetracene were measured in six perfluoroalkanes (PF), six alkanes and a few of their derivatives. The solvent spectral shift (SSS) resulting from dispersion interactions of aromatic hydrocarbons with PF may be described by expressions derived ...

Solvent Property of Amine Based Solvents
2018In this chapter, the method about selection of amine solvent for CO2 capture plant was proposed in order to improve the efficiency of the process. The properties of amines solvents related to CO2 capture were discussed in order to design the plant based on the selected amines. The physical properties (i.e.

Occupational neurotoxicology of organic solvents and solvent mixtures
Neurotoxicology and Teratology, 1989The results of two field studies in painters and spray painters, the outcomes of examinations of workers with suspected work-related disease due to solvents, as well as data from an evaluation of an epidemiologic study in painters with confirmed occupational disease, are presented and discussed.

Solvent form examines the destruction of art—through objects that have been destroyed (lost in fires, floods, vandalism, or similarly those artists that actively court or represent this destruction, such as Gustav Metzger), but also as a process within art that the object courts through form.
