Assessment of subclinical mastitis diagnostic accuracy by differential cell count in individual cow milk

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2019
The progressive decrease of mean SCC in dairy herds worldwide is affecting SCC accuracy as a subclinical mastitis marker. This evidence supports studies aiming to apply differential cell count (DSCC) as a tool to identify mastitis.

Monitoring of monthly SCC in she-camel in relation to milking practice, udder status and microbiological contamination of milk [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Somatic cell counts and bacteriological examinations were measured in 28 camel milk samples from 2 farms, one with milking machine (farm A) and the second with hand milking (farm B).

Influence of somatic cell count and breed on capillary electrophoretic protein profiles of ewes’ milk: A chemometric study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Producción CientíficaBulk tank ewe milk from the Assaf, Castellana, and Churra breeds categorized into 3 somatic cell count (SCC) groups (2,500,000 cells/mL) was used to investigate changes in chemical composition and capillary electrophoresis protein ...

Interrelationships of Somatic Cell Count, Mastitis, and Milk Yield in a Low Somatic Cell Count Herd

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1993
In a high yielding low SCC herd, changes in milk yield associated with SCC and occurrence of clinical mastitis and differences in SCC with parity, clinical mastitis, and DIM were investigated. Milk yield data were obtained at every milking, and SCC was measured once every 48 h in 117 cows during the first 119 d postpartum.

Determination of milk production losses and variations of fat and protein percentages according to different levels of somatic cell count in Valle del Belice dairy sheep [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The somatic cell count (SCC) of milk is widely used to monitor udder health and the milk quality and because of its positive genetic correlation with mastitis this trait was included in breeding schemes of dairy sheep.

Somatic Cell Count, Importance and Effect Factors in Dairy Cattle

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Agriculture: Food Science and Technology, 2014
The somatic cell count (SCC) is commonly used as a measure of udder health and milk quality. Thus, to determine the milk quality standards in many countries, it legally determined as an indicator of somatic cell count raw milk and determines the level of

Preparation and Use of Somatic Cell Count Samples (SCCS) for Comparison of Milk Somatic Cell Counting Methods

open access: yesJournal of Food Protection, 1987
Somatic cell count samples (SCCS) for use in comparison of milk somatic cell counting methods were prepared from the cell sediment deposited in a creamery milk separator. Bovine milk somatic cells were resuspended from the sediment, and serial cell dilutions were prepared in bronopol-preserved milk diluent.

CYTOLOGICAL QUALITY OF GOAT MILK ON THE BASIS OF THE SOMATIC CELL COUNT [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Central European Agriculture, 2007
The aim of the present paper was to evaluate the cytological quality of goat milk based on the somatic cell count in respective months of lactation. Besides there was defined the effect of somatic cell on the milk production and chemical composition of ...
