Acoustic suppressed topological refraction in valley sonic crystals
We report both experimentally and numerically that an acoustic suppressed topological refraction is realized by two kagome-lattice valley sonic crystals (VSCs).

Nondiffractive propagation in sonic crystals [PDF]
Sonic crystals are media with a periodic modulation of the acoustic parameters, such as the density and the bulk modulus. They have recently attracted a great interest, because of their potential applications in the control of sound propagation, used as reflectors, focusers, or waveguides. All these properties are related with the dispersion introduced

Valley vortex states in sonic crystals
Valleytronics is quickly emerging as an exciting field in fundamental and applied research. In this Letter, we study the acoustic version of valley states in sonic crystals and reveal a vortex nature of such states. Besides the selection rules established for exciting valley polarized states, a mimicked spin Hall effect of sound is proposed further ...

3D sound wave focusing by 2D internal periodic structure of 3D external cuboid shape
In this work, we report the focusing effect of a 2D sonic crystal cuboid. The proposed sonic composite lens is vertically extended from a 2-D flat Phononic Crystal Structure, but it is found to be able to focus waves in a three-dimensional manner.

Acoustical routing based on diffraction inhibition in two-dimensional sonic crystal
Routing and guiding acoustic waves without diffraction broadening and backscattering losses is of great interest to the acoustic community. Here, we propose a diffraction-immune acoustical waveguide based on diffraction inhibition in 2D sonic crystals ...

An elastic fiber based on phononic crystals
In this study, a novel elastic phononic crystal fiber has been presented for the first time. This proposed structure can expand the sonic communications field, significantly. In order to realize the elastic fiber performance, solid–solid phononic crystal
