Sound diffusers based on sonic crystals
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2013A sound diffuser is proposed based on sonic crystals, structures formed by a periodic distribution of cylindrical scatterers in a host medium, which is usually air. The diffuser is a so-called biperiodic structure, as formed by two arrays of sonic crystals with slightly different periodicities.

Sonic crystal acoustic switch device
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2013This study reports a wave-controlled sonic crystal switch device that exhibits a destructive interference-based wave to wave reverse switching effect. By applying control waves, this acoustic device, composed of a two-dimensional square lattice sonic crystal block, reduces acoustic wave transmission from input to output.

Sonic crystal with open resonant cavities
Physical Review E, 2007An improved scattering matrix method is developed to study a two-dimensional air-rigid sonic crystal with open resonant cavity, and the band structure and transmission properties are investigated. Numerical results show that both the band structure and the transmission coefficient are sensitive to the shape of the resonant cavity.
