The use of sonication treatment to completely decellularize aorta tissue

open access: yes, 2013
We have developed a novel sonication decellularization system to prepare completely decellularized bioscaffolds in a short treatment time. The aim of the study is to investigate the sonication decellularization efficiency and its relation with ultrasonic

Multidimensional Cellular Micro‐Compartments to Model Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Dormancy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is an understudied subtype of breast cancer that is susceptible to late recurrences. In this study, micro‐compartmentalization techniques spanning multiple dimensions, including 2D, pseudo‐3D, and 3D, are integrated to uncover the mechanisms underlying ILC dormancy, revealing the central role of p27Kip1.

Sonic Body and Sonic Space

open access: yes, 2017
Fashion design as a field and fashion design methods are mostly based on visual values and expressions. This paper investigates alternative non-visual perspectives on fashion design aesthetics. The study on sound ontology in fashion, for example, is limited and presents a new and interesting potential territory to be explored.

Spontaneous Helical Alignment of Smooth Muscle Cells to Form a Medial Layer for Engineered Microvasculature

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Spontaneous helical alignment of smooth muscle cells is induced within resistance‐vessel‐sized channels patterned within a hydrogel. The extent of the cells’ orientation angle is dependent on the presence and composition of ECM proteins lining the channel wall and cell seeding density.

Can sonication increase the release from alginate capsules? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The objective is to investigate the use of sonication to enhance the release from loaded capsules. Alginate capsules filled with blue dextran and suspended in an aqueous solution were sonicated.

Gardiquimod Nanoemulsion Targets Cutaneous Leishmaniasis Lesions Reducing Systemic Toxicity and Parasite Burden

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsion delivery of a TLR7 agonist enhances safety and promotes colocalization with Leishmania‐infected macrophages in skin lesions, enabling a ∼2‐log reduction in parasite burden. However, tissue‐level constraints and TLR‐driven regulatory feedback generate a mixed immune response that limits complete parasite clearance.
