Minimum Particle Size for Cyclone Dust Separator [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Perkins technology wish to separate small soot particles from exhaust gases, and the question posed to the study group was to determine the feasibility of using a cyclone separator to remove these particles.

Optical Study and Numerical Simulation of the Effect of n‐butanol Mass on the Combustion Process of a n‐butanol/Diesel Dual‐Fuel Engine

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
An optical engine testing platform has been built. The influence of n‐butanol mass on the combustion process was studied in the RCCI combustion mode using intake injection of n‐butanol and direct injection of diesel in the cylinder. Using high‐speed imaging technology to capture the combustion process inside the cylinder, the dual color method is used ...

Carbon deposition model for oxygen-hydrocarbon combustion. Task 6: Data analysis and formulation of an empirical model [PDF]

open access: yes
The formation and deposition of carbon (soot) was studied in the Carbon Deposition Model for Oxygen-Hydrocarbon Combustion Program. An empirical, 1-D model for predicting soot formation and deposition in LO2/hydrocarbon gas generators/preburners was ...

Investigation on Influence of Acetylene Enrichment in Diesel Engines Operating With Microalgae‐Waste Plastic Oil‐Heptane Fuel Mixture

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
The graphical abstract depicts biodiesel production from algae and plastic waste via oil extraction, transesterification, and pyrolysis. These fuels were tested for diesel engine performance, improve combustion, and reduce emissions. ABSTRACT This study investigates the performance and emission characteristics of a diesel engine running on a blend of ...

Experimental Investigation on Spirogyra Biodiesel With Di‐Tert‐Butyl Peroxide as a Cetane Booster

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Engine tested with third‐generation biodiesel. Cetane improver di‐tert‐butyl peroxide was added to improve combustion. The emissions analysis indicated a 53.8% CO decrease and a 9.1% NO rise to 24.9%. ABSTRACT This study investigates the impact of incorporating 30% spirogyra algae biodiesel (SBD30) with di‐tert butyl peroxide (DTBP) as a cetane booster

Reasoning in Evaluation: Why Does It Matter?

open access: yesNew Directions for Evaluation, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article addresses two significant philosophical debates of importance to the evaluation context, which have transcended science and social sciences for centuries. These debates center around philosophical approaches and approaches to reasoning as they relate to evaluation.

Advanced Design of Self-Healing Dielectric Capacitors: New Universal Concept and Computational Method [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
A new computational method is herein discussed to systemize the development of new dielectric capacitor designs. The method predicts the identities and amounts of (1) gaseous products of decomposition, (2) the volume of the emerged solid phase, coined soot, (3) the band gaps of the soot samples, and (4) the electrical conductivity of the soot.
