Tunable surface adsorption and wettability of candle soot coated on ferroelectric ceramics
A ferroelectric Ba0.85Ca0.15Ti0.9Zr0.1O3 (BCZTO) ceramic was prepared using a solid-state reaction route. A coating of candle soot was provided on poled and unpoled BCZTO samples.

Laser ultrasound super‐resolution imaging (LUSSI) leverages laser‐generated ultrasound for functional 3D transcranial imaging of brain tumor vasculature. Combined with optoacoustic tomography, it is demonstrated in a glioblastoma model, revealing structural abnormalities, compressed vessels, hemorrhages, and hypoxic regions.

Effects of dielectric-barrier-discharge plasma on soot and NOx in diffusion flame
In this study, we experimentally investigated soot and NOx in a diffusion flame on a coaxial burner. By applying a dielectric-barrier-discharge (DBD) plasma, we tried to reduce these emissions.

A Modern Roman‐Inspired Concrete with Daytime Radiative Cooling Capacity
Coolcrete, inspired by ancient Roman concrete, is a new cementitious material with photonic properties enabling passive daytime radiative cooling. Made from quicklime and zeolites, it reduces cooling energy demand, lowers CO2 emissions, and may eliminate urban heat islands.

Instabilities and soot formation in high pressure explosion flames [PDF]
Flame instabilities, cellular structures and soot formed in high pressure, rich, spherically expanding iso-octane-air flames have been studied experimentally using high speed Schlieren cinematography, OH fluorescence, and laser induced incandescence ...

Formation of PAHs and Carbonaceous Solids in Gas-Phase Condensation Experiments [PDF]
Carbonaceous grains represent a major component of cosmic dust. In order to understand their formation pathways, they have been prepared in the laboratory by gas-phase condensation reactions such as laser pyrolysis and laser ablation.

Carbonaceous particles in the atmosphere consist of two major components — graphitic or black carbon and organic material. The organic component can either be directly emitted from sources (primary organics) or be produced by atmospheric reactions from gaseous precursors (secondary organics). We define soot as the total primary carbonaceous material, i.
