Eutectozymes as Soft Hybrid Materials for Advanced Biocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Eutectozymes are sustainable hybrid materials that embed a GOx–HRP cascade within hydrophobic eutectogels featuring a dual supramolecular–covalent network. This architecture preserves native enzyme structure and stability, enables efficient heterogeneous biocatalysis in aqueous media, and positions eutectogels as robust platforms for next‐generation ...

Human erythrocyte sorbitol metabolism and the role of sorbitol dehydrogenase [PDF]

open access: yesDiabetologia, 1988
Rapid fluctuation of erythrocyte sorbitol in response to the changes in plasma glucose concentration has been reported from clinical evidence. We performed more extensive in vitro and in vivo studies focussing on how fast sorbitol was accumulated and how fast the accumulated sorbitol was oxidised in response to the changes in ambient glucose ...

Ultrafast (1‐5 sec) Lamination of Perovskite Solar Cells With Self‐Encapsulation Using Rapid Joule Heating

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Halide perovskite solar cells are fabricated with self‐encapsulation by lamination between two glass substrates using rapid Joule heating, yielding a 99% reduction in lamination time compared to previous studies. An 18% efficient cell is laminated in 5 s, demonstrating the potential for scalable manufacturing. ABSTRACT Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are

Renal inner medullary sorbitol metabolism

open access: yes, 1995
Sorbitol participates in the osmoregulation of several renal cells and has also been found in isolated inner medullary collecting duct (IMCD) cells in primary culture.

Sorbitol enhances the physicochemical stability of B12vitamers

open access: yes, 2020
The stability of B12 vitamers is affected by interaction with other water-soluble Vitamins, UV light, heat, and pH. This study compared the degradation losses in cyanocobalamin, hydroxocobalamin and methylcobalamin due to the physicochemical exposure ...

Sorbitol as a Cryptic Cause of Diarrhea [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
Sorbitol is a poorly absorbed monosaccharide widely used as a sweetener for dietetic foods and as a drug vehicle. Ingestion of sorbitol can lead to gastrointestinal complaints such as cramps and diarrhea.

DNA Replication Errors Drive Genome‐Wide Small Inverted Triplication Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study provides insight into the dynamic equilibrium mechanism of a novel structural variant, small inverted triplication (SIT), which is generated by misalignment of the 3’ flap generated under DNA replication stress with palindromic sequence. Alternatively, the end sequence may fold back on itself to form an inverted fragment.

Trehalose 6-phosphate signal is closely related to sorbitol in apple (Malus domestica Borkh. cv. Gala)

open access: yesBiology Open, 2017
Trehalose-6-phosphate (Tre6P) is a precursor of trehalose, which is widespread in nature and greatly influences plant growth and development. Tre6P acts as a signal of carbon availability in many plants, but little is known about the function of Tre6P in
