Coniochaeta fodinicola is an acidophilic fungus which has been isolated only several times from extremely acidic environments. In this study, Coniochaeta fodinicola was isolated from a sulphurous spring with slightly acidic, nearly neutral pH water (pH = 6.8) in Poland.
