Dating divergence of Polystigma and other Sordariomycetes

2017
Studies on the evolutionary history of ascomycetes in terms of time scale will help to understand historical patterns that shape their biodiversity. Until now most of dating studies of ascomycetes have focused on major events in fungal evolution but not on divergence events within smaller groups of fungi e.g. within Sordariomycetes.

A phylogenetic assessment of Akanthomyces sensu lato in Cordycipitaceae (Hypocreales, Sordariomycetes): introduction of new genera, and the resurrection of Lecanicillium.

Fungal Systematics and Evolution
During entomopathogenic fungal surveys conducted in Thailand, 15 specimens tentatively classified under Akanthomyces sensu lato were identified. To gain a comprehensive understanding of their taxonomy, molecular phylogenies using combined LSU, TEF1, RPB1,

Molecular characterization of two alkylresorcylic acid synthases from Sordariomycetes fungi

Enzyme and Microbial Technology, 2018
Two putative type III polyketide synthase genes (PKS) were identified from Sordariomycetes fungi. These two type III PKS genes from Sordaria macrospora (SmPKS) and Chaetomium thermophilum (CtPKS), shared 59.8% sequence identity. Both, full-length and truncated versions of type III PKSs were successfully cloned and overexpressed in a bacterial host ...

Koralionastetales, a new order of marine Ascomycota in the Sordariomycetes

Mycological Research, 2009
Based on molecular studies using 1760 bp of the nuSSU and 604 bp of the nuLSU rRNA genes and using morphological characters, the genera Koralionastes and Pontogeneia are assigned to the new order Koralionastetales, family Koralionastetaceae, class Sordariomycetes.

Two new records of freshwater Sordariomycetes, Sporoschisma chiangraiense (Chaetosphaeriales) and Trichoderma pinicola (Hypocreales), from the Philippines

New Zealand Journal of Botany
One of our studies on lignicolous aquatic fungi in the Philippines yielded two new records of freshwater Sordariomycetes in the genera Sporoschisma and Trichoderma.

Re-evaluation of Ceratostomella and Xylomelasma with introduction of two new species (Sordariomycetes)

MycoKeys
Abstract In this study, we assessed the phylogenetic relationships among members of Ceratostomella and the morphologically similar genus Xylomelasma, currently classified within the Sordariomycetes.

A new species and one new record of Sporocadaceae (Sordariomycetes) from Guizhou Province, China

Current Research in Environmental & Applied Mycology
Sporocadaceae species are appendaged coelomycetes. They are commonly associated with pathogens, saprobes and endophytes in a wide range of hosts. Two Sporocadaceae species were collected from the tobacco leaves in Guizhou Province, China.
