Karyotypic Variation in Sorex Tundrensis (Soricidae, Insectivora)

Two individuals of Sorex tundrensis from two different regions in Siberia were karyotyped by G-banding. Diploid numbers of 36 and 33 autosomes were found. These data are compared with published information on karyotypes from various other populations. Substantial chromosome heterozygosity is the norm in this species.
