Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

An In-Place Sorting with O(n log n) Comparisons and O(n) Moves
We present the first in-place algorithm for sorting an array of size n that performs, in the worst case, at most O(n log n) element comparisons and O(n) element transports.

Rank-sorting Hybrid Genetic Algorithm for Search High Quality Balanced Boolean Functions [PDF]
The balanced Boolean functions with favorable security indicators are always used as core component in symmetric cipher, which can guarantee the overall security of cipher. One of important approaches to get high quality Boolean functions is searching by ...

SETNDS: A SET-Based Non-Dominated Sorting Algorithm for Multi-Objective Optimization Problems
Non-dominated sorting, used to find pareto solutions or assign solutions to different fronts, is a key but time-consuming process in multi-objective evolutionary algorithms (MOEAs).

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Combinatorics of patience sorting piles [PDF]
Despite having been introduced in 1962 by C.L. Mallows, the combinatorial algorithm Patience Sorting is only now beginning to receive significant attention due to such recent deep results as the Baik-Deift-Johansson Theorem that connect it to fields ...

Glassy dynamics in thermally-activated list sorting
Sorting the integers 1 through $N$ into an ordered list is a simple task that can be done rapidly. However, using an algorithm based on the thermally-activated pairwise exchanges of neighboring list elements, we find sorting can display many features of ...

We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.
