Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Radix Sorting With No Extra Space

open access: yes, 2007
It is well known that n integers in the range [1,n^c] can be sorted in O(n) time in the RAM model using radix sorting. More generally, integers in any range [1,U] can be sorted in O(n sqrt{loglog n}) time.

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Impact of the level of complexity in self-sorting: Fabrication of a supramolecular scalene triangle

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2011
The impact of the level of complexity in self-sorting was elaborated through the fabrication of various scalene triangles. It turned out that the self-sorting system with a higher level of complexity was far superior to less complex sorting algorithms.

An empirical study on SAJQ (Sorting Algorithm for Join Queries)

open access: yesEgyptian Informatics Journal, 2010
Most queries that applied on database management systems (DBMS) depend heavily on the performance of the used sorting algorithm. In addition to have an efficient sorting algorithm, as a primary feature, stability of such algorithms is a major feature ...

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Array sort: an adaptive sorting algorithm on multi-thread

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Sorting is the most fundamental operation in database system. There are many classical sorting algorithms and among them the most commonly-used sorting algorithm in modern database system is merge sort.

Improving the performance of bubble sort using a modified diminishing increment sorting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Sorting involves rearranging information into either ascending or descending order. There are many sorting algorithms, among which is Bubble Sort.
