A presenca de bacos acessorios tem sido relatada em seres humanos e diversas especies de animais. Nos cetaceos, o baco e um orgao de estrutura histologica similar ao de outros mamiferos, podendo estar acompanhado, em algumas especies, por um ou mais bacos acessorios.
