The Geography of Success: A Spatial Analysis of Export Intensity in the Italian Wine Industry

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper investigates the paradox of how Italy's fragmented, SME‐dominated wine industry achieves global export success. Moving beyond purely firm‐centric explanations, we test whether export intensity is spatially dependent, clustering geographically in regional ecosystems.

Structure and Spectroscopic Characterisation of Phenanthroline‐Based Iodobismuthate(III) Complexes Utilised for Raw Acoustic Signal Classification

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Memristors based on trimethylsulfonium (phenanthroline)tetraiodobismuthate have been utilised as a nonlinear node in a delayed feedback reservoir. This system allowed an efficient classification of acoustic signals, namely differentiation of vocalisation of the brushtail possum (Trichosurus vulpecula).

Maximum Sound Absorption Coefficient of a Fiber Assembly

open access: yesJournal of the Textile Machinery Society of Japan, 1964
To determine the most suitable porosity of a fiber assembly used as a sound absorbent, we measured the sound absorption coefficients of fiber assemblies having air spaces behind them by the standing wave method and investigated their sound absorption characteristics.

Versatile Standing Wave Generation Between Arbitrarily Oriented Surfaces Using Acoustic Metasurface Deflectors and Retroreflectors

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
A novel method for generating versatile standing wave fields using an acoustic metasurface deflector and retroreflector is introduced. By overcoming traditional constraints of parallel surfaces, the approach enables customizable wave patterns and enhances applications in particle manipulation.

Improvement of Sound-Absorbing Wool Material by Laminating Permeable Nonwoven Fabric Sheet and Nonpermeable Membrane

open access: yesTechnologies
Thin sound-absorbing materials are particularly desired in space-constrained applications, such as in the automotive industry. In this study, we theoretically analyzed the structure of relatively thin glass wool or polyester wool laminated with a ...

Characteristics, Management, and Utilization of Muscles in Musculoskeletal Humanoids: Empirical Study on Kengoro and Musashi

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Musculoskeletal humanoids exhibit rich biomechanical properties that remain insufficiently unified in prior discussions. This article systematically categorizes muscle characteristics into five properties: redundancy, independency, anisotropy, variable moment arm, and nonlinear elasticity, and analyzes their combined effects on control.
