Nonlocal active sound control for composite regions
In the active sound control problem, additional sound sources, known as control sources, are implemented at the perimeter of a protected domain. The control sources can generate secondary sound inside the shielded domain, which attenuates incoming noise. This leads to an inverse source problem.

Acoustic Propagation Characteristics of Acoustic Logging Instrument
Most of the shells of the sonic logging tools in domestic are the results of imitation, which are unable to predict the sound insulation performance before manufacturing. To develop a shell with better sound insulation performance, the sound propagation ...

Kinetic Compensation of Barrel Launch Under High‐Speed Solid‐Phase Particulate Impacts
ABSTRACT An accurate launch‐dynamics computational method is critical for barrel weapon service life assessment and multiphase physics field refinement. Given the lack of studies on the solid‐phase buildup behavior at the projectile base, this paper provides an improved method for calculating the launching dynamics under high pressure and high speed ...

Sound insulation of multi-storey houses: Summary of impact sound insulation
Problems connected with the sound insulation of wooden multi-storey buildings are even more severe than those connected with fire safety. Evidently a wooden house can be built so that modern requirements for both the airborne and the impact sound insulation are met with sufficient margins.

Digital surveillance of animals and nature recovery
Abstract Digital surveillance technologies (DSTs) are widely applied in nature recovery for their potential to generate novel data on species and ecosystems through digital tracking, automation (e.g. from hazardous locations) and from newly recruited citizen scientists.

The Age and Origin of Block Deposits in the Victorian Alps, Australia
ABSTRACT Large periglacial block deposits are found in the mountains of southeastern Australia. Despite their widespread distribution, their mode of formation and age are poorly understood. These landforms hold considerable potential to shed light on the nature of cooling during glacial periods. In this paper we present a new study of block deposits in
