Sound Insulating Properties of Certain Building Materials [PDF]
Transmission loss data obtained in the Johns-Manville Laboratories on various building constructions are reported. Almost all this data has been obtained on “room size” floors and partitions. The relation between such tests and “panel” tests is given where data is available.

Thermal insulation and sound absorption properties of fibrous layered structures
In this study, the effects of the addition of Activated carbon powder (ACP), Polyacrylonitrile nanofiber web (PAN), application of Plasma treatment (P), and the number of treatment layers on thermal insulation and sound absorption properties of fibrous structures have been examined and compared to each other. Bamboo and E-glass fibers have been used to

Impact of the external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS) on the sound reduction index improvement is widely discussed topic. ETICSs are already several years commonly used to reduce buildings thermal loses. However, its application can negatively influence facades sound insulation properties.

Adjustable Magnetic-Control Design of a Metasurface for Sound Insulation
Magnetic field is one efficient approach to realize non-contact control of materials. Here, we propose a type of membrane-based metasurface consisting of several parts of magnetorheological films embedded with magnetic particles, which enable non-contact

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.
